Power Flowers are power-ups that appear inSuper Mario 64 DS. They replace the variouscaps fromSuper Mario 64. WhenMario uses a Power Flower, he is able tofloat for a short time, like with thePower Balloon inSuper Mario World. WhenLuigi uses a Power Flower, he becomesVanish Luigi, becoming partially immaterial and being able to move through certain objects to get to new places, akin to theVanish Cap. WhenWario uses a Power Flower, he becomesMetal Wario, gaining the ability to walk underwater, as well as being able to withstand greatwinds, just like Mario with theMetal Cap. WhenYoshi uses a Power Flower, he gainsfire breath that can melt blocks ofIce and damage enemies, which is comparable to eatingred watermelons or fire-based enemies inhis eponymous franchise. The Power Flowers can be unlocked after thered switch in the? Switch course has been pressed, after which they can be found inred blocks. Power Flowers can also be found in the Mirror Room[1] on the second floor of theMushroom Castle, but only while Luigi is the active character.
