Potted Piranha Plants,[2][1][3] also simply referred to asPiranha Plants, are items that, if carried, attack enemies and other players within close range. Piranha Plants in pots made several appearances before their debut as items, such as in theMario Party 3minigameStorm Chasers, and as enemies, such as inWorld 6-3 inNew Super Mario Bros. Wii; Piranha Plant as a playable character inSuper Smash Bros. Ultimate andMario Kart World is also in a pot.

Super Mario 3D World /Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury[edit]
The potted Piranha Plant is an object that can be used by any playablecharacter inSuper Mario 3D World and itsNintendo Switch portSuper Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury. The Piranha Plant eats mostenemies and is able to grabGreen Stars out of reach of the playable characters. Before being picked up, it can be seen sleeping. They first appear inShadow-Play Alley, and last appear inChampion's Road. Players can also defeat them byjumping on them or throwing an item at them. Potted Piranha Plants also attack other characters; however, the characters get stunned and knocked aside rather than powered down. Shadow-Play Alley'sStamp is a potted Piranha Plant. Like their regular counterparts, they have a cat variant inLake Lapcat, namedPotted Cat Piranha Plants.[4]

Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker[edit]
Potted Piranha Plants appear in the Wii U version ofCaptain Toad: Treasure Tracker inShadow-Play Alley. They have the same behavior as inSuper Mario 3D World.
