Plane panels, also known asairplane panels andpaper airplane panels,^[1] are objects inPaper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door. They are rectangular gray slabs with an outline of a paper airplane printed on them, usually placed hanging over large gaps. Initially, they cannot be interacted with, but onceMario is "cursed" by theblack chest entity inRogueport Underground, plane panels glow yellow when Mario walks on them, signaling that the player can press Y Button to have Mario transform intoPlane Mode. They are first seen in Rogueport Underground, and reappear in many later areas, includingHooktail Castle,Boggly Woods,Glitzville, and thePalace of Shadow.

Plane panels have a close counterpart inboat panels, which allow Mario to transform intoBoat Mode and similarly glow yellow if Mario stands on them after receiving their associated transformation.
