Pirate Gooms[1] areenemies introduced inWario Land: Super Mario Land 3. They are darker than their ordinary counterparts,Wanderin' Gooms, and have small hands. Pirate Gooms typically pace back and forth and do not fall off unless pushed or thrown. Their spears are pointed forward, protecting them from frontal attacks.Wario Land 3 introduces a similar enemy namedSpearhead, except their spear is incorporated into their body.

Three nameless Pirate Gooms are introduced inWario Land II asCaptain Syrup's sidekicks that steal the treasure ofWario Castle. They wear striped bandannas instead, are a lighter color, and wield tridents instead of spears. Thegiant spear man, an abnormally large Pirate Goom, is fought several times and serves as the game's "really final" boss. In thefinal battle atSyrup Castle, Captain Syrup drops Pirate Gooms inBuzzy Beetle-like helmets (described as "beetles"[2]).

Pirate Gooms are the focus of theWario Landmicrogame ofWarioWare: Smooth Moves, where the player has to grab one and hurl it at an enemy by using theWii Remote.
