ThePiranha Pipes is akart from theMario Kart series. The kart is composed of twoWarp Pipes stuck together. Its name alludes to pipes being a common hiding spot forPiranha Plants.

Mario Kart series[edit]

Mario Kart: Double Dash!![edit]

The Piranha Pipes first appears inMario Kart: Double Dash!! as the signature kart ofPetey Piranha. It is a heavyweight kart that is unlocked by winning theStar Cup onMirror Mode alongside the duo of Petey Piranha andKing Boo. The Piranha Pipes' speed and acceleration are tied with the DK Jumbo, with the former stat also being tied with theBarrel Train andBullet Blaster. Its weight is tied with theKoopa King andBoo Pipes, all of which are the heaviest karts in the game.

The Piranha Pipes, Boo Pipes, and Barrel Train are tied for being the least bouncy when making jumps. It is also tied with the Boo Pipes and the Wario Car for being the thinnest heavyweight kart. Lastly, although the Piranha Pipes is a heavyweight kart, it has one of the better off-road statistics in the game; its off-road speed is tied with that of the Barrel Train, and its off-road speed is the second best of all heavyweight karts, losing only to the Boo Pipes.

The Piranha Pipes kart shares the same engine sound with the Boo Pipes,Heart Coach, andBloom Coach, and it makes the exact same horn sound as theWiggler Wagon. Itstires have a similar pattern toBrick Blocks.

Mario Kart Tour[edit]

The Piranha Pipes returns alongside Petey Piranha inMario Kart Tour as part of thePiranha Plant Tour, and serves as his signature kart once again. Emblem locations have been added at the front and back of the kart, and the rear handlebar has been removed (similar to itsMario Super Sluggers appearance), with the remaining one being bent over the platform, making it unusable. It reuses its original tires fromMario Kart: Double Dash!!, now being reskins of theBanana Master's tires. The Piranha Pipes increases the duration ofJump Boosts and the number of points earned for performing a Jump Boost.

Its original variant, the Boo Pipes, returned in thePipe Tour as well as a new variant, theGold Pipes. All three are classified as High-End karts.

The Piranha Pipes is not obtainable from pipes, and it is not part of the Daily Selects lineup. The following table shows its availability by tour.

Mario Super Sluggers[edit]

Piranha Panic

Although not identified as the Piranha Pipes, the minigamePiranha Panic inMario Super Sluggers features several similar karts ridden by Piranha Plants that the player needs to hit with baseballs.
