The Pipe Vault

ThePipe Vault is a system of tunnels that leads toYo'ster Isle in the gameSuper Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars. The level is optional;Mario can simply bypass the Pipe Vault and move on toMoleville if he wishes. However, the Pipe Vault is the only way to get to Yo'ster Isle. Much of this area plays out similarly to a side-scrollingSuper Mario game, as the player is restricted to a one-square-wide path and encounters classic enemies such asGoombas,Thwomps,Piranha Plants,Lava Bubbles, andChompweeds.

The Pipe Vault begins with a pit oflava filled with jumping Lava Bubbles. In order to make it to the other side, Mario must traverse a series of platforms while dodging (or fighting) the Lava Bubbles. If Mario slips and falls into the lava, he will have to go back to start and try again. After the first area, Mario will encounter pipes, treasures, puzzles, games and even a few enemies (many which are fairly weak). There is no boss in the Pipe Vault.

The background music of the Pipe Vault, "Greetings from the Pipes", is a rearrangement of the underground theme from the originalSuper Mario Bros.

Goomba-thumping game[edit]

TheGoomba-thumping game is a specialminigame run by amole entrepreneur from Moleville. He charges contestants tencoins to play the game, and if the contestant can reach a certain number of points, the mole will give the contestant a special prize. Such prizes includeFlower Tabs,Flower Jars, andFrog Coins.

Flower		In the third area, Mario should down the first pipe in front of him. In the next area, Mario must reveal an invisible platform to get to the brick platform above by jumping at the spot before the brick platform begins. Once at the top, Mario should stand at the end of the brick platform and jump. In the last area, after exiting the pipe, a tile is seen. This tile is required to reach a treasure high up in the air.
10-Coins		In the same area, above 5Chompweeds. A tile is seen moving above them and is required to access the treasure. There are two of them in the original and ten in the remake.

Frog Coin		In the third area of the Pipe Vault, Mario should down the first pipe in front of him. In the next area, Mario must reveal an invisible platform to get to the brick platform above by jumping at the spot before the brick platform begins. Once at the top, Mario should stand at the second brick crease from the revealed platform to reveal the Hidden Treasure. In the same area, on the same brick platform, two brick creases from the visible Hidden Treasure, Mario should jump at the spot to reveal another Hidden Treasure.
