History[edit]
Yoshi's Story[edit]
Peppers inYoshi's Story are fruits generally disliked byYoshis due to their spicy properties. If a pepper is consumed by a Yoshi, it sticks its tongue out in disgust and loses a petal from itsSmile Meter. If the player Yoshi isSuper Happy and performs aGround Pound while a pepper is onscreen, the fruit turns into a singlecoin, though the effect ends prematurely if a Yoshi eats a pepper while in this state. The Black Yoshi and White Yoshi seem to be fond of peppers, since they do not take damage from them.
Super Mario Sunshine[edit]
Peppers inSuper Mario Sunshine are among the types of the fruit located inDelfino Plaza. If a Yoshi eats one, it turns purple, allowing it to spitjuice of the same color that turns enemies into forward-moving purpleYoshi Platforms. Peppers are the only fruit that Yoshis never ask for to hatch out of theireggs. Peppers have an essential role whileKing Boo is being battled in that throwing a pepper at his tongue stuns him, allowingMario to damage him with another fruit.
