Pay-Off is aBadge inPaper Mario. It can be bought fromMerlow for oneStar Piece, and is the cheapest Badge that can be bought from him alongsideAttack FX A. IfMario equips this Badge, he receives morecoins after battle if he takes damage. The amount of coins that are dropped is equivalent to the amount of damage he takes divided by 2 (rounded down). This is not affected by any damage done to hispartners.
