Pata Mario is an original transformation that appears inSuper Mario-kun and successor to theSaint Wing Mario form fromSuper Mario Bros. 2. Attained by taking the wings from aKoopa Paratroopa, it allowsMario to fly.Super Mario Party Jamboree later depicts characters equipping a pair of wings similar to those of a Paratroopa for the same purpose, though it is not clear whether these are genuine Paratroopa wings or replicas.[1]

Super Mario-kun[edit]

In chapter 12 ofvolume 5, while fightingKoopa 3'stroops, Mario tackles a Koopa Paratroopa, stealing hiswings and becoming the winged Pata Mario. With the power offlight, Mario uses it to his advantage to run over the enemies, until he gets attacked by twoFire Snakes, losing the wings.

Super Mario Party Jamboree[edit]

InSuper Mario Party Jamboree, the Paratroopa Flight School mode sees Mario (and/orLuigi) using a pair of wings similar to a Koopa Paratroopa's to do the missions. The player takes direct control over a character's wings by spreading their arms out while holding theJoy-Con controllers, tilting, turning, and flapping them to maneuver the character.
