TheOld Brooch is a key item inMario & Luigi: Brothership. It's a vintage brooch fromDesolatt Island thatIreen gave to her mother, and it holds great significance for her. The Old Brooch also serves as an objective in the side quest "Back to IDLE's Roots"; Ireen's mother explains that she lost the brooch, likely dropping it somewhere in the green building to the north.

OnceMario andLuigi reach the building, they need to determine which hole the brooch fell into. A resident drops all the collected trash, which includes the brooch. Subsequently, the brothers find and retrieve the Old Brooch for Ireen's mother.
