Obi-Wan Toadi is a beardedMushroom space colonist, who appears to run theMushroom Colony, which is located on theMushroom Planet. Obi-Wan Toadi only ever appeared inThe Super Mario Bros. Super Show! episode "Star Koopa." He is a reference toObi-Wan Kenobi from theStar Wars series alongside another character,Obi-Wan Cannoli, from the live-action segment, "Zenned Out Mario". His quote,"May the pasta be with you," is a pun on the quote"May the Force be with you" from the same series.
WhenMario,Luigi,Princess Toadstool, andToad arrive at the Mushroom Colony to try and save it fromDarth Koopa'sBirdo Ray, Princess Toadstool explains to Obi-Wan Toadi that they had only fifteen minutes left before the Mushroom Planet would be destroyed. Although Obi-Wan Toadi concludes that there is not enough time to fight back, Princess Toadstool begs for Obi-Wan Toadi to find a way. Obi-Wan Toadi explains that Mario's group has to penetrate Koop Star inMushroom Starfighters so that someone can disable the Birdo Ray. Mario agrees, under the condition that he will be fed lunch afterwards.
Before Mario takes off, Obi-Wan Toadi can sense that Mario is nervous, and he presents him with a pizza to bolster his spirits (as well as his appetite). After saying "May the pasta be with you" to Mario, Obi-Wan Toadi watches Mario and his friends off, as they fly into space to take down Koop Star.
After Mario and his friends complete their mission, Obi-Wan Toadi, along with the rest of the Mushroom space colonists, congratulate them all upon their return. Mario, however, is more concerned with the lunch that Obi-Wan Toadi had promised him, causing everyone to laugh.
