Noozes are birds found inMario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story. They are encountered inToad Town Caves. Noozes resemble the Mario brothers' noses (thus the origin of their name) and have two forms. One has a red comb and wings resemblingMario's mustache, while the other has a green comb and wings resemblingLuigi's mustache.
A given Nooz can switch between the two forms. They attack by "sneezing" a small cloud at Mario or Luigi. This cloud cannot bejumped on, as it will hurt the Mario Bros. should they try to do so. It also has a possibility of giving them theTrip status effect. They also have an attack resembling aBros. Attack, where a red Nooz bounces off of a green Nooz into the Top Screen. It then flies above Mario and tries to land on him. Sometimes the Nooz "sneezes" to slow its descent, which can cause Mario to counter with hishammer too quickly. Afterward, the green Nooz will attempt to charge Luigi. This attack resembles the advancedSplash Bros. attack fromMario & Luigi: Superstar Saga. Noozes can also sing the first few notes of theending theme fromSuper Mario Bros. during battle to summon other Noozes. Its color indicates which of the Mario brothers it will attack, similar toThwacks andWonder Thwacks fromthe previous game.
A Nooz is one of the enemies contained in aJunker Can in the battle withJunker. In the original, it is always green, but will attack Mario if he destroys the Junker Can the Nooz was hidden in; the remake has it match its proper color when attacking Mario.
