TheNewspaper is athing inPaper Mario: Sticker Star that is found throughWhitecap Beach'sSecret Door. It is a newspaper namedThe Mario Times rolled up to resemble a bat. It remains in Mario'salbum until it is turned into asticker at aSling-a-Thing station. Once it has been used as a sticker, it returns to its original position. It can also be purchased from theShady Toad for 100coins.
As a sticker, the Newspaper takes up 1 square in Mario's album. When it is used in battle, the background disappears and a scoreboard appears, followed by the Newspaper, which hits all enemies on the battlefield one at a time. Additionally, if the player mashes as the Newspaper is about to hit the enemies, they take additional damage. It is the weakest of the club-based Things in the game.
The Newspaper can also be placed into theSticker Museum as #17, alongside theToy Bat and theBat. Its description identifies it as a rolled tube of sheets of paper.
