Multi-Vators[1] are a type ofplatform that appears inSuper Mario 3D World and its campaign inSuper Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury, as well asCaptain Toad: Treasure Tracker andits ports. Multi-Vators have a number printed on them that indicates the minimum number of characters that must be standing on the platform in order for it to move, which generally allows access to a hidden secret. They generally appear in stages withDouble Cherries, so that a player can useclones to meet their requirements by obtaining Double Cherries. InSuper Mario 3D World andSuper Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury, Multi-Vators may be activated by multiple players, one player using multiple clones, or any combination of players and clones that is equal to or greater than the number on the Multi-Vator.

Super Mario 3D World /Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury[edit]
InSuper Mario 3D World andSuper Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury, the first Multi-Vator appears at the end ofDouble Cherry Pass, and requires four characters to ride it to the level's thirdGreen Star. Another four-character Multi-Vator appears next to theCheckpoint Flag inBeep Block Skyway, leading to the level'sStamp. Three Multi-Vators appear inBackstreet Bustle: the two-character one sends the player from the beginning to the area in the middle, the three-character one leads the player to the third Green Star, and the four-character one leads the player to the second Green Star. A two-character Multi-Vator appears near the end ofCakewalk Flip, and leads to the level's Stamp. A two-character Multi-Vator also appears close to the end ofRolling Ride Run, taking the player to the third Green Star.
Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker[edit]
A single two-character Multi-Vator appears inDouble Cherry Spires inCaptain Toad: Treasure Tracker, and it is used to obtain thePower Star. Multi-Vators are also present throughoutMulti-Vator Mayhem, and are primarily used to progress throughout the level. Said Multi-Vators reprise their role inBoo Spotting at Multi-Vator Mayhem.
