Muck is a type of hazardousterrain inDonkey Kong Bananza that appears prominently in theFeast Layer, especially in sublayer 1401. It is a green substance that emits bubble particles which shift from green to pink and vice versa, popping with tiny electric sparks. It is produced byMuckety-Muck, as well asMuckoids, with both the boss and the green-faced variety of the latter being capable of spitting it as an attack.
So long asDonkey Kong is in contact with muck, he will take continuous shock damage. The damage dealt by muck can be lessened by equipping eitherPurple Britches orShock-Proof Britches; the former by 10%, and the latter by 20%, 30%, or 40% depending on its current upgrade level.
Muck cannot be inhaled by theElephant Bananza, nor is it affected by most terrain. The only way to clear muck is withsalt; throwing a salt chunk is more effective than swinging it directly at the muck, as the former causes the salt to sprinkle down and dissolve any muck it falls onto. Salt rocks andSqueeloids made of salt are also able to get rid of muck if thrown or launched directly at it, respectively. Anygold andfossils submerged in the muck will also be collected if enough of it is removed from around these objects.
Orange-faced Muckoids spit out a similar, orange-colored substance, referred only as???. This variant can melt throughMelted Iron and remains unaffected by salt. Despite sharing the same color, the orange Muckoids are still made of Muck, and can be defeated with salt all the same.
