History[edit]
Luigi's Mansion[edit]
InLuigi's Mansion, mice are depicted as a type ofghost.Blue Mice move along floors, whilePurple Mice are additionally able to go up and through walls as well as climb on ceilings. They deal fiveHP of damage ifLuigi touches them. They are very common and have no HP value or heart; they are simply sucked up instantly when thePoltergust 3000 is activated. They are found almost entirely in hallways, though Blue Mice are also found in a few darkened rooms, a number that increases in the PALHidden Mansion.

Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon /Luigi's Mansion Arcade[edit]
Mice reappear inLuigi's Mansion: Dark Moon, now appearing as a type ofpest with a stylized redesign shaped similarly to a computer mouse; their ears are more square-shaped and further apart, their eyes are smaller and red, and they lack their noses. They flee when Luigi shines the light on him, but they still do five HP of damage to him if stepped on. Mice are usually found near mouseholes, where they are generated. They are defeated either when Luigi uses thePoltergust 5000 to suck them in or by shining aStrobulb on them. When a Strobulb is shined on them, they can drop acoin, aheart, or nothing.
One mouse plays a role at the beginning of the game. When Luigi first visits theGloomy Manor, he is unable to open the door since it is locked. A mouse scurries out of the mousehole, holding akey on its tail. Only after Luigi retrieves the key is he able to access the Gloomy Manor. Later, a mouse in theHaunted Towers holds one of the 13emeralds in theSeedling Laboratory.
This type of mouse appears inLuigi's Mansion Arcade with the same appearance and role.
Luigi's Mansion 3[edit]
Mice reappear inLuigi's Mansion 3 as enemies, acting as they did inLuigi's Mansion: Dark Moon, though now with a more realistic appearance with a distinct head, whiskers, and visible limbs. After Luigi defeatsChef Soulfflé, several mice steal theelevator button released from him, prompting Luigi to chase them around theMezzanine to retrieve the button.
