Monty's Revenge is a Battleminigame inMario Party 7 and a Free-for-All minigame inMario Party: The Top 100 andMario Party Superstars. The minigame takes place in a star-shaped patch of dirt in a garden.
Introduction[edit]
The first player is looking around while in their hole, then they become surprised and get back in just before aMonty Mole hits them.
Gameplay[edit]
The minigame is a "reverseWhack-a-Mole": the players pop their heads in and out of 11 holes in the star-shaped ground to avoid being whacked by the threehammer-wielding Monty Moles. The objective is to stay above the ground for as long as possible without being hit. If a player gets hit, their timer stops as they are stunned for a few seconds before going back in. After 30 seconds, the player who remained aboveground the longest is declared the winner.
This is one of the minigames that can appear in Decathlon Castle. Here, the player's objective is to stay out of the holes as long as possible to earn as many points as possible, up to 1,000. It also appears inThe Top 100's Decathlon as the seventh minigame.
Ending[edit]
InMario Party 7 andSuperstars, the winner celebrates as the losers are chased off by a Monty Mole. If the minigame ends in a tie inMario Party 7, all the players are chased away by a Monty Mole, while inSuperstars, the players simply do their tie animations.

Naming[edit]
The minigame's name is a portmanteau of "Montezuma's revenge," a common name for cases oftravelers' diarrhea contracted by tourists visiting Mexico, andMonty Mole, due to the fact that Monty is now the one trying to whack the characters with the hammer.
