Mock Ups,[1] also known asBogus Blimps,[1] are balloons inSuper Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island andits Game Boy Advance version. They are found in two levels:Shy-Guys On Stilts andDon't Look Back! When aYoshi gets too close to Mock Ups, they inflate. If the Yoshi eats the balloon, a1-UP is awarded. Failing to eat the balloon results in it exploding and revealing aFly Guy that then flies away, while the Yoshi is injured. Hitting a Mock Up with anegg causes it to roll away. Their English name is a pun off of "1-UP" andmockup, as well as the word "mock", which means "fake" or "imitation" when used as an adjective. It may also refer to how they mock the player by releasing a Fly Guy instead of giving a 1-UP if not eaten quickly.
