Meringue Clouds is the cloudy seventh world ofNew Super Mario Bros. U,New Super Luigi U, andNew Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe. It lies east ofAcorn Plains,Layer-Cake Desert,Sparkling Waters, andFrosted Glacier, northeast ofSoda Jungle, northwest ofRock-Candy Mines, and south ofPeach's Castle. This world can be either accessed by completingRoy's Conveyor Castle or completingFlight of the Para-Beetles, Soda Jungle's secret level. (InNew Super Luigi U, these levels are replaced byRoy's Ironclad Castle andPara-Beetle Parade, respectively.)
Meringue Clouds is a sky world similar to World 7 from the previousNew Super Mario Bros. games. Unlike other sky levels in the game, hills are visible in the background of Meringue Clouds' sky levels, and two of them take place during sunset.Ludwig's Clockwork Castle takes place right in front of the tornado surrounding Peach's Castle, which is marked off by different cloud coloration. It seems to take place over a cliff next toWorld 1, the grass-themed world from the previousNew Super Mario Bros. games, in betweenRock-Candy Mines andPeach's Castle. Its name is derived froma French dessert made from whipped egg whites and sugar. There are 10 levels in this world, with 6 normal levels, one being the thirdGhost House in the game, theTower level, theCastle level, and theAirship level. The bosses of this world areMagikoopa,Ludwig von Koopa, andBowser Jr.
Meringue Clouds is featured as one of the stage variations of theMushroom Kingdom U stage inSuper Smash Bros. for Wii U andSuper Smash Bros. Ultimate. It uses the sunset setting found in two of its stages. The layout consists of a few platforms, including two that players can fall through. Several obstacles may appear in this section of the stage, includingStretch Blocks,Water Geysers that may carryBig Urchins, and a giant beanstalk that grows in the middle of the stage.
Meringue Clouds is the thirteenth Property on the game board inMonopoly Gamer. It is one of two properties in the Green Color Set (along withSwitchback Hill).
Meringue Clouds is used as the setting of the Level 2 difficulty in theNew Super Mario Bros. Umicrogame inWarioWare: Get It Together!.

Notes[edit]
- Meringue Clouds,Soda Jungle, andLayer-Cake Desert are the only three worlds to have threeToad Houses, two red and one green.
- When the player stands in front of the eastern red Toad House on the world map, the edge of the world map model can be seen in the top-right corner. This cannot be seen when viewing the map in the free camera mode, and is still present inNew Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe.[7]
