Mecha-Bowser, also known asMechakoopa,[2] is a giant robot in the likeness ofBowser that first appears inSuper Mario Sunshine, and has since made several appearances in some form or another in other games, mostly various spin-offs. It is likely inspired byMechagodzilla in appearance.

History[edit]

Super Mario Sunshine[edit]

InSuper Mario Sunshine, Mecha-Bowser is found inEpisode 1 ofPinna Park and is controlled byBowser Jr. To fight it, Mario, riding the park'sRoller Coaster, must collect and firewater rockets (viaFLUDD) at Mecha-Bowser. Mecha-Bowser attacks by shootingBullet Bills at Mario, and by breathing fire on the Roller Coaster track, which can be doused using FLUDD. When firing Bullet Bills or damaged, the cannons shown resemble the controller ports on theNintendo GameCube. After enough hits, the robot explodes, and Bowser Jr. pilots its head away to escape.

Mario Golf series[edit]

While Mecha-Bowser does not physically appear in the series, its name appears on scoreboards inMario Golf: Toadstool Tour andMario Golf: Advance Tour.

Mario Power Tennis /New Play Control! Mario Power Tennis[edit]

InMario Power Tennis and itsWii port, Mecha-Bowser is the boss of theMecha-Bowser Mayhemminigame, in which it rotatesthe court and battles players, firing Bullet Bills andBob-ombs that can be deflected back at it. Players must attack it with charged tennis balls until it is defeated.

Mario Party series[edit]

InMario Party 5, Mecha-Bowser is a giant toy on theToy Dream board and shoots characters out of acannon in its mouth to another location on the board whenever they land on a nearby? Space. InMario Party 7, its head is a feature ofBowser's Enchanted Inferno!. InMario Party 9, its head is featured on theBowser Station board as a Jackpot Machine. It storesMini Stars, and players can earn these stars by playing minigames or by landing onJackpot+ Spaces.

Mario Kart series[edit]

InMario Kart Arcade GP andMario Kart Arcade GP 2, when finishing the Bowser Cup with Bowser, Mecha-Bowser replacesgiant Bowser in a boss fight. His tactics are the same as Bowser. The player has to throwBlack Shells at the pillars supporting Mecha-Bowser to defeat him.

Minecraft[edit]

In the Super Mario Mash-Up Pack inMinecraft, Mecha-Bowser's head replaces the original game'sfurnace block.
