Mayor Devotegetter is acharacter in thePC version ofMario is Missing!. They aregender-neutral, appearing to be female in the MS-DOS version and a man in theCD-ROM Deluxe reissue. Their name is a pun on "the vote getter." Mayor Devotegetter is the fictional mayor ofMexico City. Like the other mayors, Mayor O. K. Leeder contactsLuigi via videophone first when he arrives in the city and again once every artifact has been recovered. Later in the game, a newspaper article inKathmandu describes him meeting withMayor Smallburg,Mayor Schmutznikov, and the mayor ofMarrakech in Montana as "The 'M' Club".
