- —Sticker Museum plaque,Paper Mario: Sticker Star
TheMatches are aThing inPaper Mario: Sticker Star. They are the second strongest fire-based Thing and are found behind theSecret Door atHither Thither Hill. The Secret Door outline is found on a wall near theComet Piece. They remain inMario'salbum until they are turned into asticker at aSling-a-Thing station. Once they have been used as a sticker, they return to their original position. They may also be purchased from theShady Toad for 120coins and sold as a sticker for 20 coins.
As a sticker, the Matches take up 1.5×1.5 squares in the album. When they are used in battle, the matchbox drops and hovers above Mario. A match gets pulled out and strikes the side of the matchbox, lighting it. A joyous fanfare plays as the match shrinks and explodes like a firework. Any enemies that are defeated turn into ash. The player can press as the match strikes the side of the box to increase the damage dealt.
The Matches can be placed in theSticker Museum as #39, alongside the other fire-based and heat-based Things.
