Mario Club Co., Ltd., formerly theSuper Mario Club and simply theMario Club, is the game-testing and debugging team for many ofNintendo's games, including the namesakeSuper Mario franchise, having been credited in most releases in the franchise sinceVirtual Boy Wario Land in 1995. Based in Kyoto, it was established as a full subsidiary to Nintendo under its current name in July 2009,[1] withNew Super Mario Bros. Wii being the firstSuper Mario game to credit the company under this name, for which it also produced the "Super Skills"hint movies.[2] As of September 16, 2024, the Mario Club consists of 400 employees. When credited, the club is usually listed under the heading "Special Thanks," but more recent games list the club under either "Debug" or "Testing."
