Mario's castle[1][2] (orMario Castle)[3] is alocation inSuper Mario Land 2: 6 Golden Coins. It is acastle that had been stolen byWario, who then transformed it into alevel and renamed it "Wario Castle."[4] IfMario defeats Wario, the spell is broken, the castle turns white instead of black, and itsM, turned upside down to resemble aW, is moved back into its correct position.
In later games, such asSuper Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars, theMario Bros.' House replaced the castle as Mario's place of residence in theMushroom Kingdom.
InMario Party 8, on the boardKoopa's Tycoon Town, if the player gets a three-Star Hotel after tradingcoins with aKoopa Troopa at a Hotel, the Hotel looks like Mario's castle.

Notes[edit]
- The theme song of the Mario's castle stage is similar to that of theBattlefield inSuper Smash Bros., while the player fights theFighting Polygon Team. It is also similar to theP. 6-Finale song fromYoshi's Story.
- The final area where Mario battles Wario seems to be the only part of the castle that is unfazed by Wario's spell. Evidence that supports this is the noticeableM designs on the windows, brick walls that haveSuper Mushrooms andCarrots on them, and a Mario statue in the part where the second phase of the final battle takes place.
