Magmites are rock-shelledBuzzy Beetles fromSuper Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars andits remake that are encountered in theMole Mines. As they do not have any special attack, they attack by hitting Mario and his allies with the rocks on their back, thrown by a group of baby Magmites. Magmites have high defense compared to their lowHP, and they are strong againstMario'sJumps. They have a weakness to thunder and ice, so anIce Bomb, orMallow'sSnowy orThunderbolt, work well against them.

They have a stronger relative, calledMagmus, found inBarrel Volcano. A similarly rock-shelled beetle known asStone Buzzy later appeared inSuper Paper Mario.
