Lucky Fruit
ALucky Fruit is a game mechanic inYoshi's Story. Before each playthrough in Story Mode and Trial Mode, a roulette wheel with the four regularfruits (apples,bananas,watermelons, andgrapes) appears onscreen. Pressing
or
slows down the roulette wheel until it stops on a fruit. The selected fruit becomes the Lucky Fruit, which serves as theBaby Yoshi's "yummiest" fruit until the game is completed. The Lucky Fruit rewards the Yoshi with eighthearts (versus three for theFavorite Fruit and 100 formelons) and recovers all of the petals on the Yoshi'sSmile Meter, even if the selected Yoshi color normally does not like the fruit.
In eachlevel, there are twelve of the selected Lucky Fruit to find, while there are six of each of the other three "ordinary" fruits. When a Yoshi does aground pound inSuper Happy mode, anyShy Guy onscreen is turned into the Lucky Fruit.
