Leaf Platforms[1] (also referred to asfalling leaves)[2] appear in theSuper Mario franchise as gently floating giant leaves that player characters can stand on asplatforms.
History[edit]
Wario Land 3[edit]
Leaf Platforms inWario Land 3 make their first appearance in theSuper Mario franchise. They create the route to the greenTreasure Chest inOut of the Woods. They begin falling once the Pouch from theCave of Flames and the Eye of the Storm fromThe Stagnant Swamp are obtained, creating a storm that blows them from the trees. The same level contains smaller leaf-like platforms as well, which instead vanish shortly after being jumped on.
New Super Mario Bros. U /New Super Luigi U /New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe[edit]
Leaf Platforms inNew Super Mario Bros. U,New Super Luigi U, andNew Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe appear on giant beanstalks. When they first sprout, they appear to be green, only to turn red and brown then slowly float down after some time has passed. Leaf Platforms appear inSkyward Stalk in the former game and inBeanstalk Jungle in the latter game.
Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze[edit]
Rolling leaves inDonkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze appear in the levelHorn Top Hop, where they appear orange and travel on their intended path until they reach the end of the path, where they turn brown and eventually disintegrate. Some rolling leaves may also be floating indefinitely from gusts produced by alphorns.
Yoshi's New Island[edit]
Several leaf platforms inYoshi's New Island appear in the levelBouncy Beanstalk Walk. If the player stands on them for too long, they will eventually fall off. A few leaf platforms also appear inBig Beanie's Castle, exclusively in the area leading to the battle withBig Beanie.
Super Smash Bros. series[edit]
Leaf Platforms inSuper Smash Bros. for Wii U andSuper Smash Bros. Ultimate may appear on theMushroom Kingdom U stage.
Minecraft[edit]
Leaf Platforms in the Super Mario Mash-Up Pack inMinecraft are the aesthetic replacement ofdripleaves. The Leaf Platforms use their design fromNew Super Mario Bros. U.
