Lava Cheep Cheeps,[1] also known asFire Cheep Cheeps[2] and described as "blackTobi Lava Fish,"[3] areCheep-Cheeps with dark, purple-crimson scales and asterisk-shaped pupils, and are constantly on fire. Lava Cheep Cheeps appear exclusively inSuper Mario Sunshine, inhabiting themagma withinCorona Mountain, swimming in one direction a short distance and then leaping back to where they started in an arc.
Although no Lava Cheep Cheeps appear in theSuper Mario Maker series, a Cheep Cheep,Deep Cheep,Porcupuffer, orBlurp will be submerged in flames if placed in lava, giving it a similar appearance to Lava Cheep Cheeps.
