- “Easy foryou to say! You just hold the map, you don't have to dig!”
- —Kutlass, "Ape-Nesia"
Kutlass is a shipmate ofKaptain Skurvy and recurring character in theDonkey Kong Country animated series. He is Skurvy's first mate, and he speaks with a distinctive Italian accent. Kutlass is voiced byJohn Stocker,[1] the same person who voicesToad in theSuper Mario cartoons. Kutlass's model is a recolor ofKing K. Rool's, as the two look identical besides their scale color and clothes.
General information[edit]
Despite Kutlass being Kaptain Skurvy's first mate, he does not have as much of a significant role in the episodes. During the episodes, he makes plans to steal theCrystal Coconut with Skurvy and his shipmateGreen Kroc.
Kutlass is the one of the two of Skurvy's minions that actually follows the Pirate Handbook and knows it by heart. Kutlass is shown to be loyal and respectful to Skurvy, often referring to him as "sir," but he can also sometimes act snappy with him, but withdraws the remarks quickly after Skurvy threatens to demote him.[2]
