History[edit]
The Super Mario Bros. Super Show![edit]

Super Mario Bros. (Valiant Comics)[edit]
"Koopa Kola"[edit]
Koopa-Kola is shown in theSuper Mario Bros. comic of the same name, which is framed as an advertisement for the soda. The advertisement shows that it comes in both plain and crunchy varieties and is "made from REAL coal." The Koopa-Kola featured in the advertisement is Koopa-Kola Classik, making it distinct from an implied New Koopa-Kola as Coca-Cola Classic was distinguished fromNew Coke. An "extra-fat" version is also advertised, being a parody ofDiet Coke (in the German translation, it is called "Koopa-Kola Heavy," a parody of "Coca-Cola Light," the name for Diet Coke used in most of Europe, and is advertised as "extra yucky and high in calories").
"Fins and Roses"[edit]
In "Fins and Roses," Koopa-Kola is featured very briefly asWendy drinks a can of the soda while on a raft in theWater World as she muses about whether her plan to stockpile weapons to defeatMario will get her in big trouble withKing Koopa or gain his undying respect. Later, after her raft is destroyed by herbomb whenBertha hits it back to her, she is aided by Mario, who decides to buy her a Koopa-Kola before saying terrible things toStanley as part of a ten-minute truce.
"Duh Stoopid Bomb!"[edit]
Koopa-Kola's final appearance in theSuper Mario Bros. comics is in "Duh Stoopid Bomb!" whereToad, disguised as aShyguy, gives King Koopa some Koopa-Kola at this request in exchange for gaining information on theStupid Bombs he is developing. However, he orders him a Koopa-Kola Plain instead of a Koopa-Kola Crunchy, which he immediately spits out, apparently disgusted by it.
Nintendo Adventure Books[edit]
Koopa-Kola is mentioned a few times in theNintendo Adventure Books series. It is featured prominently inUnjust Desserts, where a shrunken Mario finds a particularly large amount of the substance insideYoshi's stomach. If he tries to swim across, the Koopa-Kola congeals into sticky crystals all over him, leading to aGame Over.
