TheKoop Star is an enormous, faucet-shaped spacecraft/garrison owned and operated byDarth Koopa. A parody of theDeath Star from theStar Wars franchise, it is featured prominently inThe Super Mario Bros. Super Show! episode "Star Koopa".

Roughly the size of a small moon, the Koop Star is built for the domination of the universe. It is the fastest known spacecraft to have ever been built, and is capable of reaching speeds of up to Warp 10. Known machines that are a part of the Koop Star include a tractor beam, theBirdo Ray, and theIntergalactic InSinkErator.

In "Star Koopa", Darth Koopa andMouser use the Koop Star to pursue theFlying Pizza, which they capture with its tractor beam. When Darth Koopa succeeds in freezingMario and his friends, he brings them aboard the Koop Star, where he fails to coercePrincess Toadstool into ordering theMushroom Space Colonists to surrendertheir planet to him.

Knowing that Princess Toadstool will not change her mind, Darth Koopa orders Mouser to activate the Birdo Ray, and to toss the four heroes into the Intergalactic InSinkErator, where he expects them to be killed. However, due to some quick thinking by Mario and Luigi, their group jams the Intergalactic InSinkErator's blades with utensils, causing them all to be packed into a singleGarbage Pod while still alive. The Garbage Pod is then ejected out of the Koop Star, and transports Mario's group to the Mushroom Colonists' planet.

At theMushroom Colony,Obi-Wan Toadi tells Mario's group that the only way to save the Mushroom Planet was to penetrate the Koop Star in aMushroom Starfighter, so that one can disable the Birdo Ray. Once they are equipped with Mushroom Starfighters, Mario and his friends fly back to the Koop Star, were they are attacked byStormtroopas intheir own starfighters. Mario's group manages to fight off the Stormtroopas, allowing Mario to fly into a canyon-sized groove along the surface of Koop Star. After some close calls with a few Stormtroopas and protruding walls, Mario enters the Koop Star through a small hole, and blows up the foundation of Koop Star with aBob-omb. As a chain reaction, Koop Star as a whole blows up as Mario flies off, while Darth Koopa and Mouser escape into deep space on aSpace Raft.
