InDonkey Kong Country, Kongo Jungle is the first world. Most of the area is engulfed in a jungle, but there is a long cavern about midway through. The cavern's exit leads to the second half of Kongo Jungle, which itself directly leads to a large lake. - Main articles:Kongo Jungle (Super Smash Bros.),Kongo Falls
In theSuper Smash Bros. series, Kongo Jungle (spelled "Congo Jungle" in the originalSuper Smash Bros.) appears as one of the arenas inSuper Smash Bros. The Kongo Jungle stage is made out of a large wooden platform with several smaller, sometimes floating ones around it. There is also a vast jungle in the background of the arena and aBarrel Cannon underneath the arena. InSuper Smash Bros. Melee, in addition to the previous Kongo Jungle returning, another Kongo Jungle stage (later renamed "Kongo Falls" inSuper Smash Bros. Ultimate) was introduced. This Kongo Jungle stage is constructed out of logs strewn together, which are sitting on rocks jutting out of a waterfall. In the background of this stage is a vast jungle along with what appears to beDK's Tree House. Kongo Jungle inSuper Smash Bros. later returns inSuper Smash Bros. for Wii U, while both versions reappear inSuper Smash Bros. Ultimate.
Exclusively in World of Light ofSuper Smash Bros. Ultimate is a recreation of the original Kongo Jungle, where it is namedDK Island. It can be visited via a portal on the east side of the world map. In DK Island,Donkey Kongspirits appear in the locations the levels were originally (with the exception ofBarrel Cannon Canyon;Jungle Hijinxs serves as the area's starting point), in the following order:Kritter (Ropey Rampage),Cranky Kong (Cranky's Cabin),Zinger (Reptile Rumble),Enguarde (Coral Capers),Funky Kong (Funky's Flights), andCandy Kong (Candy's Save Point). Defeating Funky Kong's puppet fighter unlocks Funky Kong's Shack, one of the shops in Spirits mode. DK Island ends at the location ofVery Gnawty's Lair, where the player can battle the capturedDiddy Kong. Defeating Diddy Kong awakens him, freeing him fromGaleem's control and adding him to the party for the remainder of World of Light. This also unlocks Diddy Kong in the main game, if the player has not done so already.

Notes[edit]
- Alternate versions of Kongo Jungle have existed throughout theDonkey Kong franchise, often alongside a different version of Jungle Hijinxs. They share a common distinction of being a large jungle area serving as both the starting location and the location of DK's Tree House.
- The first instance of this is inDonkey Kong 64, where DK's Tree House is the central location of a wide jungle area within DK Isles, while the first level,Jungle Japes, is based on Jungle Hijinxs.
- The second instance of this is theJungle World inDK: King of Swing.
- There is aJungle world in theGame Boy titleDonkey Kong, but it does not have as much of an established connection to Kongo Jungle, since the game was released prior toDonkey Kong Country.
