TheJungle King Mask is aUseful Item inPaper Mario: The Origami King. It is apapier-mâché mask in the shape ofDonkey Kong's head, found in the staff room ofShogun Studios alongside theSpace Warrior Mask andGoomba Mask. When equipped, bongos and cuíca noises play as Mario imitates Donkey Kong's chest beating.Olivia andBob-omb use words rhyming with "Kong" to describe it.

In order to sneak intoBig Sho' Theater, Mario is prompted to use one of the masks and disguise as aPaper Macho Soldier. If the Jungle King Mask is chosen, he is quickly chased out and Olivia and Bob-omb suggest he use a different item. When Olivia is sad over Bob-omb's death inBreezy Tunnel, Mario can use the Jungle King Mask and imitate DK's chest beating again, although she remains silent. In both cases, the Goomba Mask must be used instead.

The word "Kong" is specifically used as part of a joke in the German version, where Bob-omb says, translated, "I like the rhythm! It makes you want to write a Kong to it! ...I mean, a song." In Italian, Bob-omb says that it beats its chest "KONGusto", then corrects himself to "con gusto" ("with gusto"). In the Spanish translations, the joke is that neither Olivia nor Bob-omb remember who the mask depicts, with the latter indicating he doesn't remember anything due to his amnesia.
