Iron Blocks[1] are metal crates in theSuper Mario series that player characters can use as platforms. They often appear incastles or related areas.

New Super Mario Bros. Wii[edit]
Iron Blocks first appear inNew Super Mario Bros. Wii. They are characterized as indestructible boxes moved byConveyor Belts, and they are sometimes infinitely spawned by characteristically defined generators. Iron Blocks come in four different variants, all of which are a combination of widths 2–4 and heights 2–4, and getting crushed by a falling Iron Block results in an immediate loss of life. They appear only inWorld 4-
Tower, where they are the gimmick of thelevel.
New Super Mario Bros. U /New Super Luigi U /New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe[edit]
Iron Blocks are objects inNew Super Mario Bros. U,New Super Luigi U, andNew Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe. Their behavior is largely unchanged fromNew Super Mario Bros. Wii. They appear inRoy's Conveyor Castle inNew Super Mario Bros. U andNew Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe; they appear inRoy's Ironclad Castle andP Switch Peril inNew Super Luigi U. Additionally, the 4×4 variant featuresBowser'semblem on its visible face.
Super Mario Bros. Wonder[edit]
Iron Blocks are objects inSuper Mario Bros. Wonder. They have Bowser's emblem like inNew Super Mario Bros. U. Iron Blocks can be destroyed by theflying battleship's lasers during airshipWonder Effects.
