TheIce Pick is aThing inPaper Mario: Color Splash. It is found within the artillery area inthe Golden Coliseum, alongside theBottle Opener. According to theShy Guy observing it, despite its dangerous appearance, it is ineffective when it comes to battlingIggy.

Once the Ice Pick has been picked up, it is wrung out, refillingMario's paint and becoming a colorless card. It is kept until it is used in battle, after which it returns to its original position. It can also be purchased from theWringer for 250coins. A replica card of the Ice Pick also exists, and may be collected from theBattle Spin orPrize Pipe Paths. The Ice Pick may also be placed into thePrisma Museum, where it can be tested.

When the Ice Pick is used in battle, the scenery changes to a modest kitchen, where Mario and the enemies are placed on a cutting table. The Ice Pick appears and proceeds to stab each enemy one at a time before flying off. If enough damage is taken, the enemies are instantly defeated. The player may pressA Button at the moment the Ice Pick stabs each enemy to increase the damage dealt.

The Ice Pick is mandatory when it comes to battlingLemmy atthe Emerald Circus. Once Lemmy has summoned hisWonder Ball, Mario must use theDisco Ball to distract him, then the Ice Pick to pop his ball and render him vulnerable. If Mario tries to use a replica Ice Pick, Lemmy prevents him from doing so, stating it looks like it came from the bargain bin. Notably, Mario may use the Ice Pick during the first stage of the battle to pop Lemmy's regular ball. However, doing so immediately takes Mario to the second stage, where he is unable to win due to no longer having the Ice Pick.

Unlike other Things, the Ice Pick has a unique animation when used incorrectly. AtTangerino Grill, if the player tries to break the ice block inside the freezer containing theMagnifying Glass with the Ice Pick instead of melting it with theHair Dryer, the ice will only break partially before quickly reverting back.
