IDLE,Mario & Luigi: Brothership[1]

IDLE is a group of characters who appear inMario & Luigi: Brothership. They are a team of fourConcordian children who all reside onDesolatt Island, each with a yellow-orange scarf tied around a different part of their body. Its name is an acronym made up of the initials of their members:[1]

  • Ireen, a short, pink Concordian who wears her scarf as a hair bow, and is the self-proclaimed leader of the group. She fought the other IDLE members one-on-one to get them to join her team, forming IDLE.
  • Dulles, a lanky, green Concordian with his scarf tied around his antenna.
  • Loog, a short, blue Concordian wearing his scarf as a bandana. He also proclaims himself as the leader of the group.
  • Ellow, a stocky, yellow Concordian wearing his scarf as a sack that is tied underneath his head.

Princess Peach,Starlow, andDorrie join the group after theColor-Full Sea, Great Lighthouse Island is relit; Peach wears her scarf around her right arm, and Dorrie wears one around its neck, but Starlow does not wear one.

History[edit]

Mario & Luigi: Brothership[edit]

Mario and Luigi first encounter IDLE on Desolatt Island. The group initially sees the Bros. as a threat, but agree to let them go to the island'slighthouse with them if they can find all of the members in a game of hide and seek. After Mario and Luigi link Desolatt Island, the group visitShipshape Island to discuss theExtension Corps, as well as theSnaptors that are kidnapping the people ofConcordia.

WhenTechnikki finishes building the rocket with the Stickem Oil Mario and Luigi found onAllsand Island, the four Concordian members agree to ride the rocket directly into the barrier surrounding the Color-Full Sea's Great Lighthouse. Ellow holds the rocket directly, while the rest of the members hold onto his back. It is later revealed that they survived the impact of the crash. Once the Color-Full Sea Great Lighthouse is lit, Peach, Starlow, and Dorrie join the group on scouting missions.

If the Bros. chooseAdaphne's upgrade forShipshape Island, the group waits onJellyfish Island per Adaphne's demands, and later along with Peach, Starlow, Dorrie, and Technikki, save Mario, Luigi, andCozette asFortress Zokket transforms into theSoli-Tree. If Technikki's upgrade is chosen, the group help operate the engine while Adaphne instead saves Mario, Luigi, and Cozette from Fortress Zokket.

Later, afterZokket meets his demise,Cozette is saved, andReclusa is unleashed, IDLE is one of those who manages to avoid getting trapped in Reclusa's flowers. Everyone in the group except Loog gets separated and has to be found onShrimpee Islet andMykroh Islet, with theirBond being collected afterward. This Bond is one of the Bonds necessary for breaching the barrier thatReclusa sets up around the Soli-Tree.

During the end of the game, the group says their goodbyes along with the rest of the cast. They are later shown posing in front of a Concordian child in Allsand Island during the credits.
