Hiders are blueghosts that first appear inLuigi's Mansion: Dark Moon. Per their name, these ghosts tend to hide in furniture or other objects, and flee to another spot upon being discovered. Hiders appear in groups of at least two, and always attack alongside other ghosts. Hiders throw objects atLuigi while hiding inside furniture or objects, doing 10 damage. They will move to new hiding places periodically, especially if their current spot is revealed. Sometimes, they throw banana peels to make Luigi slip. Luigi has to be quick in capturing them, due to their speed. Hiders have 15HP. In the ending, Hiders and the other ghosts ofEvershade Valley become friendly once more as a result of theDark Moon's restoration.
A Hider also appears as a part of atrophy, alongside aGreenie,Slammer, andGobber, inSuper Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS. The trophy can be unlocked at random.
In XXX-001 An Accidental Discovery, an entry ofProfessor E. Gadd's Research Journal, a Hider pops out of a container and surprisesProfessor E. Gadd. This causes him to spill his a cup of Lunoman Greenie coffee blend into a vial of ghost energy, an accident that creates the element Goo. Goo is later used to createGooigi.
InLuigi's Mansion 3, a similar, but more aggressive enemy known as anOozer appears.
