Hefty Goombas[1][2] areenemies introduced inNew Super Mario Bros. Wii. TheseGoombas are smaller than aBig Goomba but bigger than a common Goomba. They are commonly depicted as being the same height asSuper Mario.
The Big Goombas inSuper Mario Maker andSuper Mario Maker 2 are the same size as Hefty Goombas and similarly split into two smaller Goombas when stomped, but they are not referred to as Hefty Goombas.

New Super Mario Bros. Wii[edit]
Hefty Goombas are enemies inNew Super Mario Bros. Wii. They are encountered in theWorld 1Enemy Course and inWorld 8-2. Hefty Goombas split into two normal Goombas whenstomped. They are the only large enemies that can be frozen byice balls, but need to beGround Pounded because their huge size prevents the player character from being able to lift them.Giant Goombas are shown to about twice as large as a Hefty Goomba, and they split into two Hefty Goombas when stomped.
New Super Mario Bros. U /New Super Luigi U /New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe[edit]
Hefty Goombas are enemies inNew Super Mario Bros. U and its expansionNew Super Luigi U. They are encountered in theGoomba Enemy Course inLayer-Cake Desert in both games, as well as in the levelJungle of the Giants inSoda Jungle in the former game, appearing when the playerjumps on aBig Goomba. Hefty Goombas act the same as inNew Super Mario Bros. Wii.
Super Mario Bros. Wonder[edit]
Hefty Goombas are enemies inSuper Mario Bros. Wonder. They are first encountered inThe Sharp Trial: Launch to Victory. Hefty Goombas act same as in previous appearances. In some courses, they drift down on dandelion seeds as parachutes.
