TheGunyolk is a large mechanical monster created by theFactory Chief and appears inSuper Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars. The Gunyolk and the Factory Chief are the last enemies that are encountered beforeSmithy. It resembles a heavily armored combination of a locomotive and a tank with a large vat of molten metal in the back. The molten metal is shown to have a face when it is exposed during one of the Gunyolk's attack animations.

Battle[edit]

The Gunyolk uses theBreaker Beam every 2nd turn, which was previously used bythe Blade; unlike it, however, the Gunyolk does not need to recharge after using it. On odd-numbered turns, the Gunyolk chooses from a pair of attack pools. The first has a 33% chance of usingEchofinder, which hits one character for 1.5x the damage of its normal attack and inflictsMute, and uses a normal attack otherwise; the second pool has a 66% chance of using the Fire-attributeFire Saber to inflict moderate magic damage, and a 33% chance of using the Thunder-attributeElectroshock, which can inflict even more magic damage.

The Gunyolk has no resistance to status ailments. It is additionally weak to Ice and Thunder.

A palette swap of the Gunyolk exists that isunused in the game. It normally only attacks, but will useLightning Orb every six turns.
