TheGuard's hat pin is an item in the DOS and Deluxe versions ofMario is Missing!. It depicts the traditionally Communist symbol of thehammer and sickle (although despite what its image shows, it also sits on top of ared star), and it is worn on the hats of those guardingLenin's Tomb. A single one of these is stolen from one of the guards by some invadingKoopa Troopas, causing the entire tomb to be closed off to the public.Luigi then acquires it from a wandering Koopa Troopa, and sets out to find the pin's original location by askingMoscow's various locals. He eventually learns that he needs to return it to Lenin's Tomb, and he does so through its information booth, receiving an award of $1275.
