TheGray Magikoopa is a special kind ofMagikoopa that first appeared inPaper Mario, but are abbreviated asGRY Magikoopa in the game. The Gray Magikoopas can turn alliesinvisible, and appear solely in theCrystal Palace. Unlike the game's other Magikoopa colors, Gray Magikoopas are never shown riding broomsticks, though they haveunused sprites for it. Like allMagikoopas, they duplicate themselves orrun away if alone in battle. InPaper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door, their abilities are given toGreen Magikoopas.
