Gold Ghosts, also known asjabbers[1] ororange ghosts,[2][3] are enemies inLuigi's Mansion and the firstghost typeLuigi encounters in the game. Since their debut, Gold Ghosts have only made cameos and minor appearances.
History
Luigi's Mansion
InLuigi's Mansion and itsNintendo 3DS version, one Gold Ghost is first seen in theFoyer as a foggy cloud carrying akey, which then goes through a door into theParlor. There, a group of them accost Luigi, leading him to meetProfessor E. Gadd. They later appear in the training mode in E. Gadd's hideout, where they chase Luigi but do not attack him, unlike the ones found in the mansion. They reappear countless times throughout the mansion, found in groups of two or more and can be hurt by any element. Three Gold Ghosts (five in the PAL Hidden Mansion) are fought as the first wave of ghostsVincent Van Gore sends at Luigi.
Greenies, found inLuigi's Mansion: Dark Moon, andGoobs, found inLuigi's Mansion 3, are the equivalent of the Gold Ghosts.
Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga /Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga + Bowser's Minions
InMario & Luigi: Superstar Saga andits remake, a Gold Ghost briefly appears inStarbeans Cafe after the player brews the first drink where it scares Luigi, only to be sucked up by Professor E. Gadd upon entering.
Mario Power Tennis
InMario Power Tennis, Gold Ghosts, as well as several other generic ghost species fromLuigi's Mansion, appear on theLuigi's Mansion Court and in theminigameTerror Tennis.
Mario Kart Arcade GP 2
InMario Kart Arcade GP 2, artwork of a Gold Ghost is found in the Horror House inYoshi Park 2.
Mario Party 8
InMario Party 8, Gold Ghosts are among the ghosts that can be encountered in the minigameSpecter Inspector.
Super Smash Bros. series
The Gold Ghost appears as a part of atrophy, alongside theBlue Twirler and thePurple Puncher, inSuper Smash Bros. Brawl andSuper Smash Bros. for Wii U. In each one of them, the trophy can be unlocked at random.

InMario Super Sluggers, Gold Ghosts appear in the unlockable stadiumLuigi's Mansion.

Gold Ghosts are among the spectators in the sporting events inMario Sports Mix.
Nintendo Land

InWarioWare: Get It Together!, Gold Ghosts are one of the ghosts that have to be found in theLuigi's Mansion microgame. They are found on all three difficulty levels.
