Glow Block
- This article is about the grabbable block that illuminates dark areas inNew Super Mario Bros. Wii. AGlow Block,[1] also called aLight Block,[2] is an object inNew Super Mario Bros. Wii. Glow Blocks are whiteblocks with eyes similar to those onRotating Blocks fromSuper Mario World. These blocks emit light thatMario and the other characters can use to illuminatedark areas. The characters must carry them in order to explore different areas with the help of the blocks' light. To pick up a Glow Block, the player must shake
and press and hold
at the same time. A Glow Block can also be used as a projectile, by throwing it to the enemies, in a similar fashion toSuper Mario Bros. 2's physics. If a player character is onYoshi, the latter can eat a Glow Block and carry it with him that way. Glow Blocks appear inWorld 2-5,World 5-
Ghost House,World 6-6, andWorld 8-4.
Glow Blocks also appear inMario Party 10 in the minigameMurky Maze.

- Trading Card description:"Don't get caught in the dark without a Glow Block! These white boxes are found on the ground in dark areas, like caves and haunted spots. This illuminating item will help guide you when visibility is low. Just remember that you can't use other weapons, like fire or ice balls, while holding a Glow Block."
