Gift Box

AGift Box[1] is an object in theSuper Mario series. It is a box wrapped with a bow like a present that appears in theToad Houses inSuper Mario 3D Land,Super Mario 3D World, andSuper Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury. A Gift Box separate from a Toad House appears inSuper Mario Run, though it is placed atop the same kind of stumps that Toad Houses are.

Super Mario 3D Land[edit]
InSuper Mario 3D Land, the player can receive a random power-up from hitting a Gift Box, though they can receive better Gift Boxes throughStreetPass Gifts, which give the player more power-ups depending on how many times the same person is StreetPassed.
Super Mario 3D World /Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury[edit]
InSuper Mario 3D World andSuper Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury, each Toad House contains two Gift Boxes: a small one and a large one. Hitting one of the boxes gives the player either oneSuper Mushroom (25% chance) or an assortment of four power-ups (75% chance).[2]
Super Mario Run[edit]
InSuper Mario Run, a Gift Box is present in the top right corner of the play area on the screen withPeach's Castle. It holds items that the player receives from events andMy Nintendo. If there are items in the box, the Gift Box will bounce up and down as a reminder. Tapping on the box opens a menu where the player can select which items to receive, or press a button to receive all items at once. Aside from this, a Gift Box icon appears in Remix 10 over theAirship andCastle icons indicatingVS Boom Boom andVS Bowser courses, respectively. After clearing an Area with one of these courses, the box opens up to contain a 5★ or 6★building or decoration.
