General White is a retiredBob-omb general that helped createBig Bob, which can launch people toThe Moon, atFahr Outpost inPaper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door. For most of the game, General White remains atPetalburg where he sulks about losing his life's work.Mario and his party must find him and get him to fire the cannon. He is elusive and sends Mario and friends on a long chase across the map looking for him, ending in his house in Fahr Outpost where Mario must repeatedly jump on him to wake him up from his deep sleep.
The first time is when Mario must get the cannon back online. The order of characters Mario must talk to while searching are as follows:
- EitherKroop or theKoopa Troopa in front of the inn atPetalburg.
- Pa-Patch inKeelhaul Key.
- Podler inGlitzville.
- ThePuni at the entrance ofthe Great Tree.
- TheTwilighter in front of the inn atTwilight Town (Mayor Dour or the Twilighter near theTwilight Shop inthe Nintendo Switch remake).
During this search, General White leaves a message on the Graffiti Corner of the Rogueport message board, requesting information about Mario's location.
The second (optional) time is whenGoldbob sends Mario and friends to deliver a package to him for histrouble. The order of characters Mario must talk to while searching are as follows:
- A Bob-omb in General White's house at Fahr Outpost.
- Podley inRogueport.
- Podler in Glitzville.
- Goldbob inPoshley Heights.
General White also appears in volume 34 ofSuper Mario-kun. Like in the game, he has to be woken up, but he never seems to have left Fahr Outpost and does not need to be searched for. While he does activate Big Bob, Bowser ends up destroying it before it can launch Mario,Goombella, andKoops to the moon.

- InPaper Mario: The Thousand Year Door's end creditsparade, General White's silhouette can be seen with the Fahr Outpost characters.
- In the remake, a sleeping General White is passed down a group of Bob-ombs following the Fahr Outpost mayor; they eventually throw him on the stage, a callback to his heavy sleeping.
