TheGate Cliff, or World 6-1, is an area inPaper Mario: Sticker Star. It consists of a large set of rocks in the ocean. Gate Cliff is not a full level and merely serves to prevent the player from reaching the end of the game without completing all of the other worlds first, even though the player is allowed to enter World 6 as soon as they completeSurfshine Harbor and obtain the boat from there.

History[edit]

Mario accesses the cliff by his boat. If he does not have the fiveRoyal Stickers from the first five worlds, thenKersti remarks that the cliff blocks their path, and it will never go away. At this point, Mario has no choice but to leave by re-entering the boat and activating the wheel.

However, when Mario returns with the five Royal Stickers, the stickers begin glowing. The energy from the Royal Stickers causes five dots, each one of the same color as one of the Royal Stickers, to appear on the cliff. These dots are connected by yellow dotted lines to form a pentagon. At this point, Mario canPaperize to peel off the section of the cliff surrounded by the pentagon and place it into hisalbum. The section of the cliff flips around in the album, and the back of it features astatue of Bowser's head. Mario pastes the face back into the world with Paperization, and the head is revealed to be part ofBowser's Sky Castle. The castle flies into the air and out of sight, and Mario cannot follow. In order to proceed to the remainder ofWorld 6, Mario must get assistance fromWiggler inWiggler's Tree House.

Oddly, if Mario usesPaperization on the cliff before collecting fiveRoyal Stickers and then fails to have any effect, the game will ask the player if they wish to continue Paperizing, as if it was possible for Paperization to have an effect on the area.

Kersti's comments[edit]

  • Hmm, you're right. No matter how hard you stare at it, it seems like a regular old cliff wall. (NA)
  • Hmm, you're right. No matter how hard you stare at it, it just looks like any other cliff wall. (EU)
  • Light from the Royal Stickers... What power DON'T they have?!
  • Paperization complete! Now, what's the meaning of THAT?! (NA)
  • Paperisation complete! Now, what's the meaning of THAT?! (EU)
  • Bowser's castle is hiding around here somewhere. It HAS to be.

Advice[edit]

  • We've found five Royal Stickers already, but where should we go next? There must be a place we haven't solved...
  • Bowser's castle is up in the sky. Do we know anyone who can fly us up there?
