Gates appear as objects inSuper Mario Galaxy 2. As their name plainly suggests, they are red-and-yellow gates thatMario (orLuigi) andFluzzard can glide through. Once Mario and Fluzzard glide through all five gates in a singlegalaxy, a glass dome holding the galaxy'sComet Medal disappears, allowing them to collect it. Gates appear only in theWild Glide Galaxy and theFleet Glide Galaxy.
