Gassox (originally namedMokura; incorrectly calledMokuka in its battle message) is a green gaseous entity inSuper Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars and itsremake that lives inLand's End and later atBelome Temple, acting as an optional boss. When engaged in battle, Gassox resembles a green cloud with two eyes and a mouth. However, outside of battle, Gassox resembles a small white puff of smoke. When in this form, Gassox wanders around Land's End, randomly appearing in different areas and running away from attackers. If an adventurer can chase down Gassox, a battle begins.
When the battle begins, Gassox will be invisible and assume the nameFormless. Since Gassox is invisible, the creature can dodge all regular attacks. However, Formless cannot dodge special attacks. Since Formless has no magic defense and lowHP, it can be taken down with the simplest special attacks. Formless can use a variety of magical attacks, includingBolt,Static Electricity,Electroshock, andSolidify. Once a special attack is used against Formless, the cloud creature will assume its true form, the green Gassox. Gassox will retain all of the magic attacks it used during its Formless state. In its gaseous state, Gassox is weak against regular attacks and strong against special attacks. After defeating Gassox, the party will earn 30Experience Points.
Bowser summons Gassox whenever he uses hisPoison Gas attack.
