"Game Start A"[1] is a musical theme from thearcade version ofMario Bros. that plays when starting a new game. It is a brief arrangement ofEine kleine Nachtmusik, originally composed byWolfgang Amadeus Mozart in 1787.

TheNES version ofMario Bros. features an arrangement of "Game Start A" that uses noticeably differentchiptune instrumentation compared to the arcade original that plays when starting a new game.
This arrangement is reused for the same purpose in theNintendo PlayChoice-10 version ofMario Bros., as well asMario Bros. Returns,Mario Bros.-e, andFamicom Mini: Mario Bros.
This arrangement returns alongside theGame Boy AdvanceMario Bros. remake inSuper Mario Advance; its sequelsSuper Mario World: Super Mario Advance 2,Yoshi's Island: Super Mario Advance 3, andSuper Mario Advance 4: Super Mario Bros. 3; andMario & Luigi: Superstar Saga. It is one of the onlyMario Bros. themes to not receive a new 16-bit arrangement in these games.
