AFwoosh[1][2] is a cloud enemy that first appeared inSuper Mario 64. It attacks by blowing strong gusts ofwind in order to push characters off high altitudes.
History[edit]
Super Mario 64 /Super Mario 64 DS[edit]
InSuper Mario 64 andSuper Mario 64 DS, a single Fwoosh can blowMario andhis cap offTall, Tall Mountain. The mountain wall after it is a portal to a secretslide. The original version depicts the Fwoosh with a partially transparent body, large eyebrows, closed eyes, and a feline-shaped mouth with a happy expression, while the remake gives it a solid, angrier appearance vaguely resembling aBoo. In addition, the DS remake grants the Fwoosh the ability to turn around in order to always face the character.
Mario cannot defeat the Fwoosh, butWario can walk right past it with hismetal ability.Yoshi also has the ability to eat the Fwoosh and defeat it byspewing fire at it. InSuper Mario 64 DS, the Fwoosh can also be defeated by walking into it while affected by amushroom.
Super Mario-kun[edit]
A Fwoosh appears while Mario, Yoshi, and theBob-omb Buddy ride on a magic carpet inRainbow Ride in volume 16 ofSuper Mario-kun. The Fwoosh blows Mario's hat away, and it lands on aBig Boo.
Mario Party series[edit]
Fwoosh has also appeared in theMario Party series. InMario Party, the player can warp from world to world by hopping on one onMini-Game Island. InMario's Rainbow Castle, a Fwoosh leads the player to the tower where they can get aStar fromToad or aZtar fromBowser.
InMario Party 3, the player automatically jumps on a Fwoosh when jumping at the last block ofAwful Tower, and the players ride Fwoosh during the introduction and ending toParasol Plummet.
Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time[edit]
A Fwoosh makes a very small cameo inMario & Luigi: Partners in Time. The Fwoosh appears to blow away the smoke fromThwomp Volcano after the mountain's eruption is put out by theHydrogush 4000.
Mario Golf: World Tour[edit]
A Fwoosh appears inMario Golf: World Tour as the icon for how much wind is blowing on the course. It also appears on the "Strong wind!" notification, blowing away someFly Guys.
